Just wondering if you can get to the forum easily via Blackberry or iphone using wireless or through the mobile network. I've not actually tried it yet and thought maybe someone else has.

We often go caravanning and sometimes have wifi - and my phone can go online as well. I tend to use the ipod when in a wifi area - or blackberry when not!

I am actually feeling slightly better today... hence the question!

Hi Anne

Not being very technical I couldn't be 100% certain but I would imagine if you have internet on your phone then you will be able to access the forum wherever there is internet access available; if it's a secured network (as in a bar perhaps) you may need a password. We had no problems using wi-fi in Polis, Cyprus last summer Smile

Hi Anne,

Glad you are feeling a bit better.
I'll ask my daughter if she can get it on her Blackberry.

We tried on my daughter's Blackberry, were able to get onto the site but it wouldn't allow log-in.
I don't know if that's the case with all Blackberries but it wouldn't work on hers.

Thanks Doreen for getting your daughter to try. I couldn't get it on my blackberry either.

I can on the ipod touch but that relies on finding a wireless network! - which I did find earlier today in Oxford!

Maybe these forum's are not compatible with Blackberry - which seems a bit surprising.

ThumbDown

Never mind. It's half term so will be chaotic now for a week!

Might it be the browser?

I will ask my three sons (when they stir from their rooms!) to try their phones; one's a blackberry, one's an iPhone and the other runs Android! They are all good at IT paraphernalia (aren't all kids these days?!) so there's hope of an answer!

Hi all and Hi Anne ,

Just had a look on The "Yet another Forum " site (YAF) .. whose software powers this part of the site .. and as Lyn says it is probably the blackberry browser not accepting cookies .
People on there recommend downloading and using the browser "Opera mini" for the blackberry as this gets round the problem.

Link HERE and select the model .. :)

Hope this helps

Rich :)

Hi Rich

Thanks for this. I've had a quick look and it hasn't got my model (Pearl 9105), but I'll have a trawl around and see what else I can find.
Just had a nice few days in Dublin! with plenty of Guinness, which I'm probably not meant to drink!!

Hi Anne,

I'm writing this on my iphone so can say it definitely works. I've logged into the forum in the browser as I would for any other webpage. I was wondering if there might be an app but I suppose there aren't enough of us for it to be worth writing one. Anyway, I've mostly been using the site on my phone or an iPod touch with no problems.
Good luck having a go too,
Vicky x

Hi Vicky

Yes I'm fine on my ipod (same as iphone really), but still can't get opera working to sign in on my Blackberry (which is what I use when I'm away from a wireless network!). Downloaded Opera, but still can't sign in! I'll have another go later - as I'm sure there must be a way.

I've found the forum really helpful.
